Overview
CH-4 Grade is a diesel engine oil for high-speed four-stroke diesel engines, including supercharged and turbocharged units, where API CH-4 performance is recommended. Available grades: CH4 15W40, CH4 20W50. API introduced CH-4 in 1998 for high-speed four-stroke engines designed to meet 1998 emission standards.
Each grade is listed separately in the specification table with its viscosity at 100 °C, viscosity index, flash point, pour point, density and base number, so grades can be compared directly before ordering.
Application
Turbocharged and supercharged diesel engines
High-speed four-stroke engines for which API CH-4 is recommended.
Application
Construction, mining and agriculture
Civil and road works, mining and agricultural machinery, as listed in the product's source documentation.
Feature
Published values by grade
CH4 15W40: KV100 15.5 cSt, VI 140, TBN 11, pour point -27 °C; CH4 20W50: KV100 19 cSt, VI 125, TBN 11, pour point -27 °C.
Feature
Choice of viscosity grades
2 grades in one product line, so a fleet can standardise on one API level across different climates or engine requirements.
